Terrarossa Quartet

The project was founded in Rome in 2025 at the Saint Louis College of Music, where the musicians first met and developed a strong musical synergy. While drawing inspiration from the American jazz tradition, the group explores the sounds and textures of European jazz, both Nordic and Mediterranean. The project's goal is to successfully synthesize these two distinct traditions, forging a cohesive identity that is open to the international Contemporary Jazz scene. The name Terrarossa is the Italian translation of Red Clay — a highly fertile Mediterranean soil that embodies the group's musical philosophy, which places great emphasis on interplay and the collective writing of original compositions.
